 إطلاق تقرير البصمة الكربونية لقرى الأطفال SOS: خطوة أردنية رائدة نحو الحياد الكربوني

في مشهد يعكس التحول الوطني المتسارع نحو الاستدامة البيئية، أطلقت جمعية قرى الأطفال SOS الأردن، مساء الأحد الموافق 20 نيسان 2026، فعاليات تقرير البصمة الكربونية وخارطة طريق إزالة الكربون، في قرية أطفال SOS بإربد، وسط حضور رسمي ومجتمعي واسع، ونخبة من الخبراء والمهتمين بالشأن البيئي.

وجاء إطلاق التقرير ليؤكد أن المؤسسات الوطنية باتت شريكًا فاعلًا في مواجهة تحديات التغير المناخي، من خلال تبني سياسات عملية ومبادرات مبتكرة تسهم في خفض الانبعاثات الكربونية وتعزيز كفاءة استخدام الموارد.

تحول نوعي نحو الطاقة النظيفة

وفي كلمة له خلال الفعالية، أكد مندوب وزير البيئة، الأمين العام جهاد السواعير، أن ما تحقق في قرى الأطفال SOS يمثل إنجازًا وطنيًا نوعيًا يجسد التوجهات الأردنية في خفض الانبعاثات الكربونية، مشيرًا إلى أن الجمعية أعلنت التوقف الكامل عن استخدام الوقود الأحفوري لأغراض التدفئة في جميع مواقعها داخل المملكة.

وبيّن السواعير أن هذا التحول جاء ثمرة عمل استراتيجي انطلق منذ عام 2023، تُوّج بإطلاق تقرير البصمة الكربونية، الذي وضع الجمعية في طليعة المؤسسات الأردنية التي قامت بجرد دقيق لانبعاثاتها، ما مكّنها من رسم مسار واضح لتحقيق نتائج ملموسة على أرض الواقع.

أرقام تعكس إنجازًا بيئيًا ملموسًا

وأشار إلى أن الجمعية نجحت في الاستغناء عن أكثر من 150 ألف لتر من السولار سنويًا، ما أدى إلى خفض انبعاث نحو 400 طن من ثاني أكسيد الكربون سنويًا، وهو ما يعادل الأثر البيئي لزراعة آلاف الأشجار

وأضاف أن الاعتماد على أنظمة الطاقة المتجددة، بما يشمل الخلايا الشمسية وأنظمة التدفئة عالية الكفاءة، أسهم في رفع نسبة الاكتفاء الذاتي من الطاقة في القرى إلى أكثر من 90%، ما يعزز من كفاءة الإدارة المالية والبيئية في آن واحد.

مسؤولية جماعية لمواجهة التغير المناخي

وشدد السواعير على أن مواجهة التغير المناخي ليست مسؤولية الحكومات فقط، بل هي مسؤولية جماعية تتقاسمها المؤسسات التعليمية، والمنظمات غير الحكومية، والقطاع الخاص، إلى جانب الأفراد، مؤكدًا أن بناء مستقبل أكثر استدامة يتطلب تكاتف جميع الجهود.

ولفت إلى أن تجربة قرى الأطفال SOS تمثل نموذجًا ملهمًا يجمع بين الرسالة الإنسانية والالتزام البيئي، حيث تمتد جهود الجمعية لتشمل حصاد مياه الأمطار، ومعالجة المياه الرمادية، والزراعة الحديثة، إلى جانب مشاريع الطاقة المتجددة.

برامج ريادية تعزز الوعي البيئي

كما أشار إلى تكامل هذه الجهود مع مبادرات نوعية مثل مشروع "أبطال البيئة”، الذي أسهم في تمكين الشباب الأردني من إعداد أوراق موقف بيئية والمشاركة في المحافل الدولية، إلى جانب مشروع التعليم المناخي الذي يعزز ثقافة الاستدامة لدى الأجيال الناشئة.

وفي ختام كلمته، ثمّن السواعير جهود الجمعية، ممثلة برئيس مجلس إدارتها المهندس مصطفى الوشاح، والمديرة الوطنية السيدة رنا الزعبي، وكوادرها، مؤكدًا أن هذا الإنجاز يشكل دعوة مفتوحة لكافة المؤسسات الوطنية للاقتداء بهذا النموذج في التحول الأخضر.

من جهته، أكد رئيس مجلس إدارة الجمعية المهندس مصطفى الوشاح، أن إطلاق تقرير البصمة الكربونية يشكل محطة مفصلية في مسيرة الجمعية نحو تبني ممارسات صديقة للبيئة، مشددًا على أن حماية البيئة لم تعد خيارًا، بل ضرورة تفرضها التحديات الراهنة.

شراكات فاعلة لمستقبل مستدام

بدوره، أكد الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة نبراس للطاقة المهندس فراس حماد، أهمية الشراكات بين القطاعين العام والخاص في مواجهة التحديات المناخية، مشيرًا إلى أن الاستثمار في الطاقة النظيفة يمثل ركيزة أساسية لتحقيق التنمية المستدامة وخفض الانبعاثات.

عروض متخصصة وحلول مبتكرة

وتخللت الفعالية عروض تقديمية متخصصة، حيث استعرض تميم الزعبي من مؤسسة Earth Watch أبرز نتائج تقرير البصمة الكربونية وخارطة الطريق لإزالة الكربون، فيما قدم المدير العام لشركة GTE ماهر عوض عرضًا حول أحدث الحلول التقنية والابتكارات الداعمة لمسارات الاستدامة البيئية.

إطلاق المرحلة الثانية من "أبطال البيئة”

وشهدت الفعالية الإعلان عن انطلاق المرحلة الثانية من مشروع "أبطال البيئة”، الذي يهدف إلى تمكين الأطفال والشباب من لعب دور فاعل في حماية البيئة، وتعزيز السلوكيات الإيجابية تجاه الموارد الطبيعية.

In a scene reflecting Jordan’s accelerating national shift toward environmental sustainability, SOS Children’s Villages Jordan launched, on Sunday evening, April 20, 2026, the Carbon Footprint Report and Decarbonization Roadmap at the SOS Children’s Village in Irbid, in the presence of a wide official and community audience, along with a distinguished group of environmental experts and stakeholders.

The launch of the report confirms that national institutions are now active partners in addressing climate change challenges by adopting practical policies and innovative initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions and enhancing resource efficiency.

A Qualitative Shift Toward Clean Energy

In his remarks during the event, the representative of the Minister of Environment, Secretary-General Jehad Al-Sawaeer, emphasized that what has been achieved by SOS Children’s Villages represents a significant national milestone reflecting Jordan’s direction toward reducing carbon emissions. He noted that the organization has announced a full cessation of fossil fuel use for heating across all its sites in the Kingdom.

Al-Sawaeer explained that this transformation is the result of a strategic process that began in 2023 and culminated in the release of the Carbon Footprint Report, which placed the organization among the leading Jordanian institutions to conduct a precise inventory of its emissions, enabling it to chart a clear pathway toward measurable environmental results.

Tangible Environmental Achievements

He pointed out that the organization succeeded in eliminating more than 150,000 liters of diesel annually, resulting in a reduction of approximately 400 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year, equivalent to the environmental impact of planting thousands of trees.

He further added that the adoption of renewable energy systems, including solar panels and high-efficiency heating systems, has increased energy self-sufficiency in the villages to over 90%, enhancing both financial and environmental efficiency.

Collective Responsibility in Addressing Climate Change

Al-Sawaeer stressed that combating climate change is not solely the responsibility of governments but a collective duty shared by educational institutions, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, and individuals alike, emphasizing that building a more sustainable future requires unified efforts.

He highlighted that the SOS Children’s Villages experience represents an inspiring model that combines humanitarian mission with environmental commitment, with efforts extending to rainwater harvesting, greywater treatment, modern agriculture, and renewable energy projects.

Pioneering Programs Enhancing Environmental Awareness

He also referred to the integration of these efforts with innovative initiatives such as the "Environmental Champions” project, which has empowered Jordanian youth to prepare environmental policy papers and participate in international forums, in addition to the climate education project that promotes sustainability awareness among younger generations.

At the conclusion of his speech, Al-Sawaeer commended the efforts of the organization, represented by its Board Chairman Engineer Mustafa Al-Washah, National Director Ms. Rana Al-Zu’bi, and its staff, affirming that this achievement serves as an open invitation for all national institutions to follow this green transformation model.

For his part, Board Chairman Engineer Mustafa Al-Washah affirmed that the launch of the Carbon Footprint Report represents a pivotal milestone in the organization’s journey toward adopting environmentally friendly practices, stressing that environmental protection is no longer optional but a necessity imposed by current challenges.

CEO of Nebras Energy Company, Engineer Firas Hammad, emphasized the importance of partnerships between the public and private sectors in addressing climate challenges, noting that investment in clean energy is a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development and reducing emissions.

Specialized Presentations and Innovative Solutions

The event included specialized presentations, where Tamim Al-Zu’bi from Earth Watch presented key findings of the Carbon Footprint Report and the decarbonization roadmap, while General Manager of GTE, Maher Awad, showcased the latest technological solutions and innovations supporting environmental sustainability pathways.

Launch of the Second Phase of "Environmental Champions”

The event also witnessed the announcement of the launch of the second phase of the "Environmental Champions” project, which aims to empower children and youth to play an active role in environmental protection and promote positive behaviors toward natural resources.
