In a press release carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the chamber reaffirmed that managing the coronavirus crisis "seriously and professionally”, taking into consideration both its health and economic sides, is "the perfect solution” to emerge from the crisis with the smallest possible damage and loss.
During an emergency meeting held to discuss the implications of Defence Order No. 6, the board said that boosting solidarity among the various segments of society will lead the national economy to a state of recovery.
The board urged the government and other related bodies, especially the Social Security Corporation, to draft an executive plan in cooperation with the private sector "to strike a balance in the repercussions”on both employers and employees, Petra reported.
The board also reiterated the "urgent need” to evaluate the damage to sectors through a specialised technical committee and to facilitate support to these sectors, be it legislative or financial, which the board said is "vital” in overcoming the crisis.
During the meeting, the ACC’s board members also voiced hopes that the authorities would not take any measures related to seizing movable or immovable funds of companies and institutions that wish to suspend their work in the current situation as per Defence Order No. 6, Petra reported.
The ACC commended the government’s efforts and measures to preserve public health and safety, which "manifest the vision and aspirations of His Majesty King Abdullah’s Royal directives”.
