Jordanian Phosphate and the Omani Investment Authority are discussing joint cooperation

Amman December 22, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company, Dr. Muhammad Al-Thunaibat, discussed with a delegation representing the Investment Authority in the Sultanate of Oman ways to enhance cooperation in the field of phosphate mining, especially the manufacture of phosphate fertilizers between the two brotherly countries, and the establishment of a Jordanian-Omani partnership in this field.
Dr. Al-Thunaibat, in the presence of the CEO of the company, Eng. Abdel-Wahhab Al-Rawad, stressed the depth of the historical relations between the two countries in all fields, pointing to the keenness of Jordanian phosphates, which has great and accumulated experience in the field of mining, to enhance its cooperation with the brotherly Omani side in this field.
He said that the cooperation between the two sides will constitute a qualitative addition to the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries, the exchange of investment opportunities between them and the openness to global markets, indicating that both sides have complementary industries and promising opportunities for investment in this field.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the possibility of establishing phosphate fertilizer factories in the Sultanate of Oman.
Al-Thunaibat stressed that these factories will have great benefits for the economy of the two brotherly countries, and constitute a new start for the Phosphate Mines Company towards the markets of Southeast Asia, India and East Africa, given the privileged location of sea freight from the Sultanate.
During the meeting, they discussed areas of joint investment in the field of maritime shipping, and the possibility of establishing a joint ammonia plant between Jordan and the Sultanate of Oman due to their availability of natural gas.
During the meeting, Al-Thunaibat presented the Jordanian phosphate plans, and the great achievements it has made over the past few years in the field of producing and exporting phosphates and phosphate fertilizers, and the shift towards manufacturing industries, and its openness to new global markets.
And he indicated that the company attaches special importance within its plans and programs to investment projects and partnerships that would enhance its competitiveness and presence in global markets, attract more investments in the field of mining industries, and build new partnerships.
The Omani delegation affirmed its pride in the brotherly relations between Jordan and Oman, and the importance of increasing opportunities and areas of cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the investment and economic fields.
He said that Oman has the ingredients and infrastructure that support and attract investment, and we look forward to establishing productive partnerships with Jordan in the phosphate fertilizer sector, in light of the availability of fertilizer production inputs such as sulfur, gas, ammonia and others in the Sultanate.
The guest delegation praised the development witnessed by the phosphate industries in Jordan and the role played by the Jordanian Phosphate Mines Company in this context, stressing the Sultanate's interest in cooperating with Jordanian phosphates in this field and exchanging experiences with them.
The two sides agreed to form joint technical committees from both sides. To discuss aspects of cooperation in the field of investment in phosphate fertilizers and marine shipping.
