Media minister announces mechanism for issuing permits to entities resuming work
Nayrouz News Agency : Permits will be issued to sectors allowed to resume work on Tuesday, which were announced on Sunday, via applications submitted to the electronic platform stayhome.jo, Minister of State for Media Affairs Amjad Adaileh said on Monday.

During a press briefing at the National Centre for Security and Crisis Management, Adaileh said that information regarding the establishment applying for the permit and its owner must be submitted to the platform to be confirmed by the Companies Control Department (CCD), the Civil Status Department and the Social Security Corporation (SSC).

The government will publish the details of the mechanism for issuing permits on its official media platforms, the minister said.

He stressed that the establishment and its employees must be registered with the SSC, adding that this is "the basis for issuing the permits”.

On Tuesday, the SSC will launch an electronic platform to allow establishments not registered with the SSC to apply to register directly with the corporation, along with their Jordanian and non-Jordanian workers, without requiring a visit to SSC branches.

He said that there will be direct linking with the traffic permit system to enable establishments to obtain these permits promptly after their employees register through the SSC platform.

The minister stressed that establishments must conduct payments electronically in regards to workers and clients, for safety purposes.

Instructional teams will tour the governorates to conduct training on establishing e-wallets, starting from the current week, he noted.

The number of permits for medical and emergency cases will be expanded to reach 10,000 daily, under "intensive oversight”, he said, adding that the same measure will be applied for bank visits, as 10,000 permits with 24-hour validity will be issued daily.

As of Monday evening, 23,000 applications have been submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ electronic platform by Jordanian students studying abroad and Jordanians stranded abroad, he said. The first stage of the process involving submitting applications will end on Tuesday at 10am.

The minister added that the second stage, which involves reviewing and sorting the applications, will end on Thursday, April 23.

The countries from which flights will enter the Kingdom will be identified based on virus-related conditions and the number of Jordanian students staying in each country, he said, stressing that priority will be given to students, as determined by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Adaileh also conveyed the government’s condolences to the family of the five victims who died in a "painful incident” when an old grenade exploded in a residential area in Mafraq.
