Jordan’s caseload rises to 540 as 18 COVID19 infections confirmed on Sunday
Nayrouz News Agency : On Sunday, 18 coronavirus infections were confirmed in Jordan, increasing the Kingdom’s caseload to 540, Health Minister Saad Jaber announced.

During the daily press briefing from the National Centre for Security and Crisis Management, Jaber said that among the new infections are six truck drivers of Arab nationality who tested positive at the Omari border crossing and 12 contacts of a COVID-19 patient from Al Khanaseri in Mafraq Governorate.

Two patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday, leaving 93 patients currently receiving treatment, he noted.

Around 4,500 tests were conducted on Sunday, increasing the total number of tests since the onset of the crisis to 115,526.

Also speaking at the briefing, Minister of State for Media Affairs Amjad Adaileh said that the government is still assessing procedures to be followed during Eid Al Fitr, the feast marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, which will depend on developments in the Kingdom’s epidemiological situation.

The Cabinet has approved a guideline for resuming work at public departments, he said, noting that public employees will resume work after the Eid holiday under strict safety measures.
