Nayrouz News Agency : His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday commended voluntary initiatives around the Kingdom, expressing pride in the way Jordanians rally around charitable and humanitarian work.

During a meeting at Al Husseiniya Palace with a group of volunteers from various governorates, attended by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, King Abdullah praised the solidarity of Jordanians during the past period, evident through charitable and humanitarian efforts, according to a Royal Court statement.

Addressing the group, His Majesty said he has been following their work throughout the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis and extended his full support, describing their efforts as reassuring.

The King was briefed by the volunteers on their initiatives, which include distributing food packages and financial aid to underprivileged families and daily labourers, home nursing and disinfecting services, holding competitions for children and assisting students in using distance learning programmes, the statement said.
