KOICA, JHCO to distribute food packages to 340 families affected by COVID19 crisis
Nayrouz News Agency : KOICA Alumni Association of Jordan (KAAJ) on Tuesday will donate food packages to 340 vulnerable families in the six governorates in Jordan — Amman, Mafraq, Irbid, Zarqa, Maan and Tafileh — that have been most affected by the current COVID-19 crisis, in cooperation with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation.

According to a Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) statement, this donation comes under KAAJ’s mission to support the welfare of marginalised communities and aims to mitigate the hardships of low-income families in Jordan, which have been aggravated by the coronavirus pandemic, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.

KAAJ was founded in 2008 as a platform for over 800 participants of KOICA training programmes to sustain and strengthen the "close, cooperative relationship” between Jordan and the Republic of Korea, the statement said, adding that KAAJ has organised numerous philanthropic activities for local development in Jordan in cooperation with KOICA Jordan office.

KOICA, Korea’s governmental agency implementing Official Development Assistance to 112 partner countries, will also support the provision of emergency health, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) and child protection services for schools in the most vulnerable areas in Jordan in partnership with UNICEF, as a "friendly contribution” to Jordan’s COVID-19 response efforts, the statement said
