Jordan’s COVID19 caseload reaches 739 as Kingdom registers 5 new infections
Nayrouz News Agency : The Kingdom on Sunday registered five new cases of COVID-19, increasing its total tally to 739, the government announced.

The new cases included three truck drivers, among them one Jordanian, who tested positive at the Omari border crossing, and two Jordanians returning to the Kingdom from the UK and Saudi Arabia, according to a Prime Ministry statement.

Also on Sunday, 15 people left hospitals, while 4,349 tests were conducted nationwide, increasing the total number of tests to 187,990.

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry, on the occasion of World No-Tobacco Day, which is marked annually on May 31, expressed its keenness to protect citizens from smoking, especially in light of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and the fact that smoking leads to lung and respiratory diseases that exacerbate effects of the virus.

The government also decided to exempt lawyers from the odd-even vehicle movement system and allow them to travel between governorates due to the nature of their work, which requires them to go to courts in other governorates, in addition to extending their work hours to between 8am and 7pm.

The council of church presidents also issued a circular to all churches on precautionary measures that churches should adopt upon their reopening as of June 7.
