Nayrouz News Agency : Five new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Jordan on Friday,
including one local case in Irbid, bringing the total number to 1,237
since the start of the crisis, according to a statement issued by the
Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.
The one local case involves a 24 year-old lawyer from Irbid.
The man was taken to quarantine in the Dead Sea region and the apartment building were he lives has been isolated.
Samples have been taken from everyone who has been in contact with the man.
Two of the cases from abroad are currently staying in hotel quarantine one travelling from Saudi Arabia and one from Iraq.
The two other cases involve Jordanian truck drivers who have entered from Saudi Arabia via Al-Omari border crossing.
A
total of seven recovered COVID-19 patients were reported today, all of
which were discharged from isolated areas in the Dead Sea.
Additionally,
5,976 COVID-19 tests were conducted today, bringing the total number of
tests conducted since the beginning of the crisis to 634,721.
The
Ministry of Health reiterated the need to adhere to preventive
measures, avoid gatherings of more than 20 people, wear facemasks,
social distance, and use Aman and Sehtak mobile applications.
