Urdun Jannah 2nd season attracts more than 100,000 participants
Nayrouz News Agency : The Ministry of Tourism’s "Urdun Jannah” programme, which encourages domestic tourism, has attracted 104,302 participants in less than two months since the launch of its second season under the theme "Our Jordan is good".

The programme had started from the southern region and later expanded to the northern and central regions of the Kingdom.

"The participants joined the programme between June 26 and August 15 through directly registering on its website Jannah.jo and through travel and tourism agencies and aviation companies that joined the programme to alleviate their losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic," according to a ministry statement cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The ministry said that a total of 24,356 participants benefited from the free transportation by tourist buses, while 13,855 used their own vehicles, 48,866 joined the programme through travel and tourist agencies and 17,225 participants benefitted from the programme through domestic flights.

The statement said that 2,881 buses transferred people at no cost, while 13 specialised tourist transportation companies benefitted from the programme also provided 560 tour guides free of charge.

"The participants in Urdun Jannah benefit from promotions and subsidised prices at restaurants, hotels and entertainment areas in Amman and nationwide," the statement added.

Late in July, the ministry and the Jordan Tourism Board required participants, service providers and tour guides of Urdun Jannah second season to download the "Aman” application to identify potential coronavirus patients in case it is later discovered that a COVID-19 positive person was among any of the programme’s trips.
