The National Centre for Security and Crisis Management's crisis centre has decided to resume regular flights through Queen Alia International Airport as of next Tuesday, September 8, the government announced on Wednesday. 

Travellers coming to Jordan from "green countries", nations deemed low-risk for the pandemic, are required to have spent the last 14 days in the country of departure and present a negative PCR test conducted within 72 hours prior to their arrival, Minister of State for Media Affairs Amjad Adaileh said during a joint press briefing at the Prime Ministry.

Travellers from "green countries” must also conduct another COVID-19 test upon arrival in the Kingdom at their own expense and have to wait for the result, the minister said, noting that those tested positive will undergo institutional quarantine, while arrivals who tested negative will undergo one week of self-isolation.

As for the "yellow countries", travellers must present a negative PCR test conducted within 72 hours prior to their arrival. 

Travellers from "yellow countries” will also have to conduct another COVID-19 test upon arrival in the Kingdom and also required to undergo a seven-day quarantine, while a third test will be conducted on the fifth or sixth day of arrival, the minister said. 

Those tested negative when departing the quarantine site are required to undergo self quarantine for a week.

Travellers coming from "red countries” are also required to undergo the same procedures, but they must wear an electronic bracelet during the self-isolation period, the minister said.

Those who fail to provide a PCR test 72 hours prior to their flight inbound to the Kingdom will be subject to a two-week institutional quarantine. 

He said that these measures will be imposed on all arrivals to the Kingdom and will be applied at all border crossings.

As for people who wish to leave the country, he said that they are free to leave at any time they wish provided there are flights available and countries of destination approve their entry.

Meanwhile, the government has decided to impose a comprehensive curfew in Amman and Zarqa starting at 11pm on Thursday until 11pm on Friday due in light of the increasing number of infections in the two governorates.

Holders of e-permits are not allowed to move during the comprehensive curfew in Amman and Zarqa, except for a limited number of workers in vital sectors,  the media minister said.

Passengers to and from Queen Alia International Airport will be exempted from the curfew provided that they present their valid tickets.

After the comprehensive curfew ends at 11 pm on Friday, the partial curfew will take place which last until 6am Saturday.
