Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Monday received a phone call from his South Korean counterpart Kang Kyung-wha, during which talks focused on means to enhance bilateral ties and the latest regional developments.

The two ministers stressed the need to continue expanding cooperation programmes between the two countries in all fields, voicing solidarity in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and its repercussions, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

They also went over efforts exerted to reach solutions to regional crises and achieve security and stability in the Middle East.

Safadi also acquainted Kyung-wha with the outcomes of the meeting that the Kingdom hosted last week with the participation of the foreign ministers of Egypt, France and Germany, in the presence of an EU representative.

He said that the meeting highlighted the importance of reaching "real grounds” to resume negotiations to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict based on international law and accredited references until reaching an end to the conflict based on the two-state solution.

The two ministers also agreed to sustain consultation, coordination and holding a meeting in the earliest opportunity to follow up on efforts to enhance cooperation and further develop ties between Amman and Seoul.
