Prince Hassan calls for creation of civil observatory on Jerusalem
Nayrouz News Agency :

HRH Prince Hassan, president of the Arab Thought Forum (ATF), has urged respect for Jerusalem as an influencing humanitarian venue at the value and moral levels.

Participating in a virtual meeting recently organised by the ATF, Prince Hassan called for a comprehensive vision in Jerusalem in a way that employs research and monitoring methods for the multiple ideologies and various schools.

The prince noted that talking about the future requires a balance that can preserve the ideological stability.

Heritage leads to civilisation versus barbarism, and the centrality of Jerusalem "urges us to seek the concepts of history based on lessons learnt rather than on the continuity of darkness”, the prince added as reported by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The essence of the "Jerusalem in the conscience” project, which Prince Hassan called for decades ago with the participation of late Sheikh Muhammad Mahdi Shams Al Deen, is concerned with the Arab and Jerusalemite human that lives in the ongoing crisis inside the holy city and with the future, identity and role of the city, he stressed.

Prince Hassan said that the envisioned civil observatory, along with the Prince Hassan Centre for Jerusalem Studies, can bridge the gap between followers of the three Abrahamic religions so as to maintain the cultural and ideological balance.

Muhammad Ghousheh, director of the centre, delivered a lecture during the event, in which he said that having Jerusalem in the heart of the old world provided an opportunity for geographers and cartographers to show the city in the centre of the world.
