The Cabinet on Sunday approved the mandating reasons for a draft amending the officer cadre system of the Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) officers for 2020, and a draft amending the system of JAF personnel cadre for 2020.
The two systems have been amended in implementation of His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives towards improving the living conditions of military retirees, in addition to increase the amount of end of long service benefits for retiring armed forces’ officers and members, which have not been modified since 2006, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The amendments also focused on improving the military service to excel to the highest levels, at all stages, specifically the post-military service (retirement phase), to contribute in improving the living conditions of military retirees.
The Cabinet also approved the cancellation of service allowance for transit fuel derivatives imports, paid at border crossings, Petra added.
The decision was made to reduce the costs incurred by companies operating in the field of transit fuel derivatives transportation, which contributes in achieving the comprehensive energy strategy for 2020-2030, intended to develop the Kingdom’s energy sector to become a regional hub for energy exchange, as well as to enhance Jordan’s relations with neighbouring countries, especially that various companies have showed willingness to import and export fuel derivatives through Jordan.
The Council of Ministers has also decided to appoint Amjad Adaileh as Jordan's Ambassador to Egypt and Jordan’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League.
