Azeri Ambassador to Jordan Rasim Rzayev on Tuesday highlighted "the strength” of Jordanian-Azeri relations and both countries’ mutual support in the international arena, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Delivering a lecture at Middle East Studies Centre (MESC), attended by a number of diplomats, politicians and academics, the ambassador reiterated Azerbaijan’s stance towards the Palestinian cause and its support to the two-state solution.
Rzayev also praised the Hashemite Custodianship of Jerusalem’s Islamic and Christian holy sites and safeguarding them against Israeli actions. The diplomat added that Jordan was among the first countries to recognise the independence of Azerbaijan in 1991, noting that diplomatic ties were established in 1993.
