The Social Security Corporation (SSC) on Sunday announced the issuance of a communiqué by the prime minister to embark on implementing the Estidama (sustainability) programme that was jointly launched by the corporation and the government.
The SSC said that beneficiaries of the programme, to be applied between December and May, include institutions whose work have been halted due to considerations of the pandemic in addition to sectors most affected by the COVID-19 crisis, the later to be identified under regulations issued by the SSC director general, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The corporation noted that employees at institutions stopped from work will receive 50 per cent of their salaries as registered by the SSC, with a minimum of JD220 and a maximum of JD500 to be incurred fully by the programme.
For this category, the programme will also pay all applicable SSC subscriptions with a ceiling of JD1,000, where employers are to incur subscriptions in excess of this ceiling.
As for workers in the most affected sectors by the pandemic, they will be allocated 75 per cent of their salaries as registered by the SSC, where the programme will pay 50 per cent provided that the value does not exceed JD500 per month, and the employer is to pay the other 50 per cent, provided monthly wage is at least JD220. If the total is less than JD220, the programme will incur the difference.
To benefit from the programme, the corporation said that the worker must be originally covered in the SSC through their institutions at least as of March and must have continued to be subscribed in institutions that were stopped from work by the government.
As for the most affected institutions, the worker must have started their subscription at least in March, the SSC said, noting that beneficiary institutions can apply to the programme through their accounts on www.ssc.gov.jo.
