His Majesty King Abdullah and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi and the deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Saturday reaffirmed the deep-rooted ties between the two countries and peoples.

At a meeting in Abu Dhabi, the King and Sheikh Mohammed stressed the need to maintain coordination and consultation on issues of mutual concern, while bolstering cooperation across all sectors, according to a Royal Court statement.

Sheikh Mohammed welcomed His Majesty and expressed the UAE’s keenness to advance and expand bilateral ties, in support of joint aspirations towards further development and progress.

The meeting covered the latest Arab and regional developments, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause and means to achieve peace in the region, the statement said.

The King stressed the importance of reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause, on the basis of the two-state solution.
