Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan on Saturday held talks that tackled focused on advancing bilateral ties  and the latest regional developments.

The two top diplomats highlighted the ongoing efforts towards furthering cooperation in various fields, voicing the two kingdoms’ determination to strengthen bilateral ties, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

Talks also went over the preparations for the formation of a joint committee to develop practical steps to advance economic cooperation.

Reviewing the latest regional developments, Safadi and Prince Faisal reviewed the Amman-Riyadh coordination and consultation towards resolving regional crises and achieving security and stability.

Talks also emphasised the importance of bolstering joint Arab action and cooperation, the statement said.

Safadi extended congratulations to Prince Faisal for the outcomes of Al Ola Summit, highlighting the reconciliation agreement's contributions to enhancing Arab solidarity.

The two sides also stressed the need for efforts to relaunch "serious" peace negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis based on the two-state solution and the Arab Peace Initiative.

Safadi acquainted Prince Faisal with the outcomes of the Cairo-held Munich group meeting.

In press remakes followed the meeting, Safadi expressed thanks for Riyadh's support for Jordan to face the economic challenges, stressing that Saudi Arabia’s security is an integral part of Jordan’s security.

"We agree on rejecting foreign interference in Arab affairs, whatever the source is. To end tension in the region, especially with regard to Iran, we must address all the reasons beyond this tension, including interference in Arab affairs,” Safadi said.

For his part, Prince Faial said that Riyadh and Amman agree on the two-state solution and the Arab Peace Initiative as the sole way to resolve the long-running Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the statement said.

Also on Saturday, Safadi discussed with Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Nayef Al-Hajraf arrangements for meetings of expert committees to determine the priorities of cooperation in preparation for the meeting of foreign ministers within the framework of the Jordanian-Gulf strategic dialogue, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
