His Majesty King Abdullah has received cables of well wishes on his 59th birthday, which falls on Saturday, January 30, from heads of state and government.
King Abdullah received similar cables from senior officials, heads of security agencies, and representatives of civil society organisations, according to a Royal Court statement.
The senders noted that His Majesty’s birthday comes at a time when the Jordanian state embarks on its second centennial, which is an occasion to recall the country’s achievements under Hashemite leadership, and to move ahead towards further progress led by the King.
They noted Jordan’s strong ties with Arab and friendly countries under His Majesty’s leadership, stressing the importance of the King’s commitment to advancing Arab and Islamic causes, and to safeguarding Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, in line with the Hashemite Custodianship.
