His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), on Monday inaugurated the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) Technical University College for Aviation Sciences building on the premises of the King Hussein Air College.
King Abdullah was received by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, and the RJAF commander, according to a Royal Court statement.
His Majesty was briefed on the college, which began admitting students in 2015 and awards bachelor’s degrees in the fields of aviation and air traffic control and navigation.
The college will launch additional specialisations this year in aircraft maintenance technology, aviation safety, and aviation management, to meet local and regional market demand.
During the visit, King Abdullah congratulated the top graduates of the college’s air traffic control and navigation programme.
His Majesty also inaugurated a renewable energy project at the King Hussein Air College, which is one of the biggest public sector energy projects in the Kingdom, supplying the power grid with a total of 22,000 gigawatts annually.
