King meets with heads of Jordan’s diplomatic missions
Nayrouz News Agency :

His Majesty King Abdullah, in a video call on Sunday attended by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, met with the heads of Jordan’s diplomatic missions abroad.

During the meeting, King Abdullah affirmed the importance of providing support and quality services to Jordanians abroad, which is a top-priority for all embassies, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a Royal Court statement.

His Majesty underscored the important role of ambassadors and heads of missions in advancing Jordan’s diplomatic relations and expanding economic cooperation.

The King said Jordan has proven its ability to turn challenges into opportunities, especially amidst the pandemic, calling for capitalising on the potential that can turn the Kingdom into a regional hub for the food processing, pharmaceuticals, and medical supply industries.

Jordan’s second centennial, His Majesty added, will see continued economic, political and social development.

The meeting also covered the latest regional and international developments, with His Majesty stressing the centrality of the Palestinian cause and safeguarding Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem among Jordan’s diplomatic priorities.

The King added that Jordan has strong regional and international relations, and is keen on continuing coordination and consultation with its partners on issues of mutual concern.

For his part, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said the ministry is building on His Majesty’s efforts in the international arena to advance Jordan’s economic and political relations, and shed light on the Kingdom’s efforts in handling the Syrian refugee crisis, while mobilising support for UNRWA.

Safadi said Jordan’s international standing, under the King’s leadership, facilitates the work of diplomatic missions, adding that efforts are underway to automate services offered by the ministry to better serve the public.

A number of heads of diplomatic missions outlined embassies’ efforts to develop bilateral cooperation with other countries and serve Jordanians abroad, especially amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Issawi, Adviser to His Majesty for Policies Haifa Khraisha and a number of senior foreign ministry officials attended the meeting.
