Nayrouz News Agency :

Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Wednesday instructed all relevant ministries, institutions and agencies to fully coordinate in order to respond to the prevailing weather conditions.

Khasawneh, during a Cabinet meeting, emphasised the necessity of raising level of preparedness to deal with the inclement weather, directing the concerned ministers and officials to intensify supervision of work in the field, as well as identify citizen needs to follow up on developments and take necessary measures to ensure public safety and sustainability of essential work.

During the meeting, the Cabinet also passed the recommendations of the committee that was charged with developing a plan to address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the housing sector, a move aimed to revitalise the sector, increase its growth and protect the workers.

The Council of Ministers also tasked the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDC) to take the necessary measures to implement the recommendations in coordination with the relevant authorities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The recommendations included the formation of a specialised technical committee to review urban intensification, make recommendations on urban planning, and direct efforts of reengineering and automating the procedures for the purpose of integrating government services provided to the housing sector through the formation of a higher committee under the supervision of the Ministry of Digital Economy.

The Cabinet also approved the recommendations of the settlement and conciliation committee on settling pending cases between 639 taxpayers and the Income and Sales Tax Department.
