Drop in temps forecast today
Nayrouz News Agency :
A slight drop in temperatures is expected on Thursday, becoming few degrees below their seasonal average, and bringing relatively cold weather in the highlands and plains, while it will be mild in other parts of the Kingdom, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.

Clouds at low altitudes are also expected to appear in the northern and central regions, with a weak chance of light showers in the early morning hours over the northern area, the JMD added, noting that winds will be westerly moderate to brisk, blowing dust in the Badia.

The weather department warned of slippery roads in the areas experiencing rain, and of poor visibility due to fog and dust in the highlands and the desert.

On Friday, mercury levels will rise again, but similar weather conditions will continue to persist with clouds at various altitudes and northwesterly moderate winds, the forecasters predicted.

As we head into Saturday, a further increase in mercury is forecast, making moderate conditions in the hilly areas and plains, while it will be warmer in other regions with clouds at medium and high altitudes and southeasterly to southwesterly active winds, stirring dust in the Badia, according to the JMD.

Temperatures in Amman today will reach a high of 15C, dropping to 5C at night, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a high of 26C, dipping to 13C during night hours.
