Jordan welcomes Saudi initiative to resolve Yemeni crisis — FM
Nayrouz News Agency :

Jordan on Monday endorsed the Saudi initiative announced to reach a comprehensive agreement to resolve the Yemeni crisis, according to a Foreign Ministry statement

In the statement, Deputy Prime Minister Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi stressed that Jordan supports the initiative, which provides an integrated proposal to reach a comprehensive, internationally legitimate, political agreement that ends the crisis, protects Yemen and its people, and enhances regional security and stability.

Safadi highlighted that the initiative also reflects Saudi Arabia's concern for the security and stability of Yemen and the region, and represents a practical step to end the security crisis and address its catastrophic humanitarian consequences.

The foreign minister reiterated the Kingdom's condemnation of the Houthi terrorist attacks against Saudi Arabia, pointing to Jordan's "absolute solidarity” with Saudi Arabia in any steps it takes to protect its security and interests.

He also described Jordan and Saudi Arabia’s security as "one”.

In his meeting with UN Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths, Safadi discussed developments pertaining to the Yemeni crisis.

Safadi voiced Jordan's support for the efforts of the UN and all the efforts aimed at ending the crisis.

He called for an immediate ceasefire and commitment to all agreements that were signed, which are considered basic steps to resolve the crisis.

Griffiths briefed Safadi on the efforts exerted by the UN mission  to ensure armistice, compliance with agreements, ending of the crisis and fulfillment of humanitarian needs.

Griffiths thanked Safadi for Jordan's hosting of the headquarters of the UN mission and for its supportive stances and policies, which alleviate regional security and stability.
