The Cabinet on Sunday held a session, chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh, in which the Council of Ministers approved the recommendations of the Settlement and Reconciliation Committee to settle the tax status of 982 companies and taxpayers owing financial obligations in accordance with the provisions of the Income Tax Law and the General Sales Tax Law.
These settlements are based on requests submitted by the taxpayers to the committee, and as a continuation of efforts to motivate taxpayers to pay taxes and relieve financial burdens, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The Cabinet also accepted the resignation of Wael Hayajneh, the secretary general of the Health Ministry for epidemiological affairs and the official in charge of the COVID-19 crisis. During the session, Khasawneh praised Hayajneh’s efforts in tackling the coronavirus pandemic and wished him continued success.
