Nayrouz News Agency : The Jordan Food and Drug Administration has officially started safety
and quality testing and analysis of nicotine-containing e-liquids used
in e-cigarettes to ensure they conform to local and global standards.
In
a statement released Tuesday, JFDA Director-General Nizar Mheidat
indicated that a new tobacco laboratory department established last year
is now carrying out tests and analysis related to nicotine
concentration and the presence of carbonyl compounds such as
formaldehyde and acetyldehyde in e-liquids, which, he said, pose further
risks to human health.
He emphasized that the new department
aims to strengthen the supervisory and regulatory role of the
administration on tobacco and nicotine products, including e-cigarettes
and e-liquids.
