Lower House discusses 9 questions to gov’t in oversight session
Nayrouz News Agency :

The Lower House, in an oversight session on Wednesday, discussed nine questions that had been directed to the government.

MP Mejhim Sqour changed his question about Ibn Hammad Dam into a query, calling for referring the issue to the attorney general over a suspicion of corruption.

Minister of Water and Irrigation Mohammad Najjar said that the progress of the dam works is 86 per cent costing JD60 million and that the project is expected to be completed this year. He noted that an arbitration case was made against the consultant involved in the design of the project and that the dam was relocated to its original site, which resulted in an additional cost of some JD6 million.

In response to MP Nael Farajat’s question, the Ministry of Health said that all necessary measures have been taken against the doctor involved in the treatment of a female patient, whose death was associated with a suspected medication mistake following undergoing a cosmetic procedure, liposuction, inside an unlicensed private clinic.

The Health Ministry’s response to deputies’ questions also tackled MP Ahmad Ashaa’s question, clarifying that the government bought 20,000 quarantine tracker wristbands at a cost of JD197,000, which have been used for a two-month period, while 4,000 remained in the ministry’s warehouses, as the policy was changed due to the lack of technical capabilities to install them in airports.

Minister of Finance Mohamad Al-Ississ, expressed the ministry’s readiness to detail MP Mayadah Shraim on her question related to the government representatives in boards of directors of state-owned companies and institutions, with the government’s reply including a list of representatives’ names and their qualifications, experiences, and wages.
