April 19, 2021 is a special date for both Ukraine and Jordan as two countries mark the 29th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, a statement from the Ukrainian embassy said on Wednesday.
These years have been a time of continuous progress and gradual improvement. Two capitals show consistent solidarity on issues of mutual importance. Jordan’s support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine has been of critical importance for the bilateral dialogue, read the statement.
Unwavering support of Ukraine to the Middle East Peace Process and the two-state solution is a continued proof of Kiev’s solidarity with the Kingdom and its priorities, the embassy said. "Along with the outright support expressed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to His Majesty King Abdullah in his resolute and wise policies aimed to preserve stability and security of the Kingdom, all these factors have attested to the maturity and depth of our relations,” the statement said.
The conversation between the leaders of two states that took place on April 13 this year, has highlighted the recent developments in bilateral relations and allowed to pave the way on a number of perspective mutually beneficial projects, the embassy said.
"There is a lot of work to be done to fully grasp and bring to reality the immense potential of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Jordan,” the statement said.
"However, we are happy that even today amid the global pandemic and its repercussions, thorough work and coordinated steps have led to the progress in the trade and economic sphere and enhanced dialogue in the security domain. The people-to-people contacts are traditionally strong and remain the key pillar of the proximity of two states. Ukraine has helped and will save no effort to continue educating the Jordanian students making them ready to work in the key industries of the Kingdom, including medicine, engineering, IT, education, and many others. We remain committed to continue making our viable contribution to preparing the new generation of Jordanians, the generation of the second centennial,” read the statement.
"Ukraine will stand together with Jordan as a reliable friend and true partner. Under the current international setting we have no other option but to remain close partners sharing similar vision and ethics, working together for the benefit of friendly people of Ukraine and Jordan,” the statement concluded.
