The Jordanian field hospital in Gaza on Saturday launched a blood donation campaign to aid Al Shifa Hospital, which faces a severe shortage of blood, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Donations were made amid the difficult conditions in which Palestinians are living as a result of the Israeli aggression on the coastal enclave.
The field hospital’s director, Colonel Faris Huneiti, said that campaign, carried out by the hospital’s staff, came within the framework of the continuous support provided by Jordan to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Huneiti noted that the hospital’s administration is constantly in contact with a number of local hospitals in the Gaza Strip to provide all forms of aid and medical support needed to face the current ordeal.
He said that the blood donation campaign is "a sincere expression of the bonds of brotherhood between Jordanians and Palestinians”.
For its part, the management of Al Shifa Hospital voiced its appreciation of the supportive stance and efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah as well as the Jordanian people in helping families in the Gaza Strip.
They also lauded the medical staff for the quick response to Palestinians’ "distress signals” amid all circumstances.
