Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Wednesday met with a delegation from the French National Assembly’s National Defence and Armed Forces Committee.
The delegation, headed by President of the National Defence and Armed Forces Committee Françoise Dumas, is currently undertaking a regional tour, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Talks during the meeting covered means of enhancing Jordanian-French relations to serve the best interests of the two countries. Lauding bilateral relations, the premier expressed appreciation of France’s assistance for Jordan, highlighting French investments in Amman’s mega projects.
On regional challenges, Khasawneh said that "the region will never enjoy security and stability unless a fair solution to the Palestinian cause is realised”, pointing out that the majority of regional problems and challenges stem from the absence of a fair and permanent solution to this issue.
Dumas said the delegation’s regional tour is aimed to support security and stability efforts in the region, as well as to lend a hand in finding solutions for regional challenges. She also highlighted the "deep-rooted” Jordanian-French ties and attached importance to advancing them in all fields.
