King visits Maan Governorate
Nayrouz News Agency :
His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday visited Maan and met with its residents in the household of former minister and senator Hisham Sharari.

Maan residents greeted His Majesty during his first field visit since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and King Abdullah expressed happiness for resuming these meetings.

The King said that the beginning of the establishment of the Jordanian state was in Maan 100 years ago, when its residents played and are still playing an important role in building the nation.

His Majesty stressed that the process of nation-building is ongoing, noting that the theme of the next stage is modernisation and development of the state in all fields with a focus on political, economic and administrative reforms.

He also referred to the government’s first phase of gradual reopening of sectors, which started on Tuesday, expressing optimism that this step would positively reflect on the economic conditions.

The King noted that priority in the next phase will be for economic, agricultural and transport projects.

His Majesty’s talks with attendees focused on several national issues and challenges facing Jordan in the current stage, especially at the economic level.

The attendees commended the Hashemites’ role in protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
