‘Jordan represents a model in coexistence’
Nayrouz News Agency :
Jordan represents a "model” in co-existence among all its social, religious and ethnic components, Senate President Faisal Fayez said on Sunday.

Meeting World Peace Council President Sheikh Qasem Bader and a number of peace ambassadors at the council, Fayez referred to the "historical and brotherly” relations between Jordan and Palestine, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The Senate president said that His Majesty King Abdullah exerts all efforts to reach a solution to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution that leads to the establishment of an independent, viable Palestinian state on the pre-1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Diversity in Jordan has always been a source of power and the Kingdom’s rhetoric has always been focussed on encompassing commonalities among followers of Abrahamic faiths, he added.

For his part, Sheikh Bader said that the council is a non-political international peace organisation that calls for dialogue, peace and love in the Middle East, reminding that Jerusalem, "the city of peace, has never enjoyed peace”.

He also referred to His Majesty’s relentless efforts towards realising peace and stability in the region.

Sheikh Bader also commended the King’s keenness to enhance co-existence and instil dialogue among followers of Abrahamic faiths, in addition to his continuous defence of the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom and life.
