His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, on Monday congratulated active and retired Public Security Directorate personnel on the occasion of 100 years since the founding of the PSD, expressing pride in his brothers in arms.
During a visit to the PSD, King Abdullah attended the ceremony for presenting the new PSD flag following the merging and restructuring of the directorate, and marking Jordan’s centennial, in addition to marking 100 years since the founding of the directorate, according to a Royal Court statement.
His Majesty urged the PSD to build on its achievements following the merger, which has had a positive impact on its performance.
At the ceremony, attended by PSD Director Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh and HRH Prince Rashid, the King paid tribute to Jordan’s martyrs and the sacrifices of PSD personnel, which have become an integral part of Jordan’s history.
His Majesty also met with Maj. Gen. Hawatmeh, who noted that the PSD seeks to provide quality services to the public and operates at the highest levels of readiness and professionalism across its units and formations, to uphold the rule of law.
