Senate Palestine Committee members, FM discuss Mideast peace efforts
Nayrouz News Agency :
Members of the Senate’s Palestine Committee, headed by Senator Nayef Qadi, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Thursday discussed the latest developments related to the Palestinian cause.

Qadi, during the meeting, lauded Jordan’s diplomatic efforts towards maintaining regional security and stability, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Safadi acquainted the gathering with the Kingdom’s unceasing efforts towards supporting the Palestinians to obtain their legitimate rights, notably their right to freedom and the creation of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the pre-1967 borders, as well as ending Israeli violations in Jerusalem and occupied Palestinian territories.

He also highlighted the Kingdom’s role in safeguarding the holy city’s Arab, Islamic and Christian identity and the historical and legal status quo, as well as the efforts exerted to end all unilateral measures that undermine the two-state solution.

Talks also went over Jordan’s role in "opening a political horizon” and launching effective negotiations to achieve a comprehensive and just peace, in accordance with the two-state solution, Petra reported.
