His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday met with Iraq Prime Minister Mustafa Al Kadhimi at the Government Palace in Baghdad, prior to holding the trilateral Jordanian-Egyptian-Iraqi summit.
Discussions at the meeting covered the deep-rooted Jordanian-Iraqi ties, with King Abdullah reiterating Jordan’s support for Iraq and its people in maintaining stability and seeking further prosperity, according to a Royal Court statement.
The meeting also addressed means to develop cooperation between the two countries, especially in energy, transport, and trade, in addition to a number of regional issues.
Regional and international efforts to counter terrorism within a holistic approach were also discussed.
Earlier, His Majesty was accorded an official welcoming ceremony at the Government Palace.
