To further introduce and popularise Pakistani mango in Jordan, an exquisite "Pakistani Mango Festival” was organised at embassy premises on June 17, 2021. Keeping in view of the COVID pandemic, the event was divided in two parts for Jordanian public office holders and business community respectively, according to a Pakistani embassy statement sent to The Jordan Times.
A large number of guests including Jordanian dignitaries, government officials, business community and media persons attended the event and had a first-hand experience of the taste of Pakistani mangoes.
The guests attending the festival were served with mangoes, mango cuts and mango milk-shake. Welcoming the audience, the Charge d’ Affaires, Taimur Zulfiqar, gave an overview of Pakistan-Jordan relations. Trade and Investment Attaché of the Embassy Khadim Ali, introduced Pakistani mango’s variants and superior quality briefly to the guests.
The charge d’affairs and trade and investment attaché urged the Jordanian business community to explore the untapped market of Pakistani fruits especially mangoes, citrus fruits, food products and rice. A number of companies showed interest to import fresh mango and mango pulp from Pakistan, the statement said.
