Madad project offers taste of success for homebased business
Nayrouz News Agency :

Malak Kharabsheh from Ajloun realised that honey production has the potential to serve as a promising home-based business after attending a training programme as part of a project by the Madad Fund, part of the EU Regional Trust Fund in response to the Syrian Crisis.

The project is implemented by the Euro-Mediterranean Feminist Initiative (EFI) and managed by the Business Development Centre (BDC).

Kharabsheh said that the session pushed her to "think outside the box” about how honey production could be a promising business. She said the training session informed her about honey and gave her useful tools on how to develop a home-based business.

She started selling her products to relatives, neighbours and friends to listen to their feedback.

Malak has now started expanding her consumer base through various associations and exhibitions.

The BDC provided her with the necessary equipment, advice and support to start the business, she said.

Kharabsheh hopes to "hire some women to help me with the business and teach them this craft that would improve their living conditions”.
