His Majesty King Abdullah is scheduled to commence his official visit to Washington, DC, with a meeting with US President Joe Biden at the White House, on July 19.
During the visit, King Abdullah will be accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania and HRH Crown Prince Hussein, according to a Royal Court statement.
His Majesty’s meeting with the US president, the first for an Arab leader with President Biden since his election, will cover the strategic ties between Jordan and the United States and means of bolstering them across several sectors, as well as the latest regional developments.
Also during the visit, the King will meet with senior administration officials; Congress leadership; members of the Senate Armed Services, Foreign Relations, and Appropriations committees; and members of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programmes Subcommittee at the House of Representatives, as well as US think tanks.
The visit comes on the heels of ongoing Jordanian diplomatic efforts led by His Majesty, including a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and participation in the fourth trilateral Jordanian-Egyptian-Iraqi summit in Baghdad, according to the statement.
