PM warns of rising COVID19 infections
Nayrouz News Agency :
Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Wednesday warned of the repercussions of the escalating coronavirus infections, deaths and hospital admissions during the past few days, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Khasawneh, while chairing a meeting of the Supreme Framework Committee to deal with the repercussions of the coronavirus pandemic, said that the government is proceeding with its plans to return to in-person education in schools in September and in universities at the beginning of October.

He also stressed the importance of reaching a safe percentage of vaccinated people, as it is critical to move forward with plans to open the sectors. The prime minister stressed that all of the vaccines Jordan distributes are safe, effective and approved by the Food and Drug Association.

He directed the concerned ministries and institutions to strengthen oversight over non-compliance with defence orders and public safety measures and impose penalties against violators.

There is no leniency towards public-safety violations, he emphasised, adding that future restrictions will harm the economy.

He also called for providing a report on the conditions of hospitals and health facilities and their readiness to deal with any developments related to the epidemiological situation.
