Nayrouz News Agency :

Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Maha Ali, on Saturday met with head of the "Made in Jordan" campaign, Eyad Abu Haltam, and a number of officials to discuss the campaign’s progress on improving the quality of Jordanian products and its promotion in the global and local markets, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Ali stressed the importance of the "Made in Jordan" campaign to support national industries and increase their local sales, the quality of their products and their reach to foreign markets.

She praised the Amman Chamber of Industry’s efforts to support the national industry and launch this campaign.

During the meeting, Ali called on the concerned directorates in the  ministry and institutions, such as the Civil Service Consumer Corporation, the Jordan Corporation for Economic Projects and the Standards and Metrology Corporation, to cooperate with the "Made in Jordan” campaign and help it succeed.

Haltam presented a summary of the campaign, including its objectives, strategy and partnerships, importantly the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply and the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation.

He explained that the new campaign strategy plans to adopt e-marketing and e-commerce tactics to improve Jordan’s export numbers by enabling products to reach non-traditional markets.

He said that the "Made in Jordan" campaign also plans to motivate Jordanian industrial companies to label their products with the "Made in Jordan" logo.

These products, however, must comply with the highest approved specifications and standards to reflect the high quality of Jordanian industrial products.

In the meeting the officials agreed to form committees of representatives of all the "Made in Jordan” campaign’s involved parties. They agreed to hold intensive meetings to determine incentives for holders of the "Made in Jordan” slogan.

The meeting was attended by the director general of the Customs Department, the director general of the Civil Service Consumer Corporation, the executive director of the Jordan Corporation for the Development of Economic Projects, and representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Environment, the Food and Drug Association and the General Organisation for Standardisation and Metrology
