Gov’t begins meetings with private sector to prioritise key policies
Nayrouz News Agency :
The government has held its first meeting with representatives of the private sector, with the aim to prioritise key policies and reforms that can support economic growth and job creation.

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nasser Shraideh said that these meetings reflect the Royal directives to enhance partnership and dialogue with the private sector to serve the national economy and improve living standards.

During a meeting with the Jordan Economic Forum (JEF) board members, Shraideh reviewed the main pillars of the government’s priorities, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

He also highlighted the government’s efforts to hear from the private sector throughout the upcoming two weeks, through a series of meetings over the draft of priorities, before it will be endorsed at the end of August.

The government’s priorities will be reviewed every six months, considering internal and external developments, he added.

Khair Abu Salik, Chairman of JEF, expressed appreciation of the efforts and emphasised the necessity of including structural economic reforms in the priorities.

Chairman of JEF Board of Trustees Rajai Muasher stressed the importance of aligning priorities of the government with national goals, mainly reducing the unemployment rate and setting a trans-governmental plan.
