Lower House Speaker Abdulmunim Oddat on Wednesday expressed the chamber’s rejection of violations to the constitutional norms that govern the legislative and executive authorities, notably the Prime Minister’s constitutional stature.
The opening of the House’s extraordinary session on Wednesday was delayed about four hours due to MP Emad Odwan’s denial of Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh’s access to his designated seat in Parliament, in protest of the government’s recent decisions.
Oddat said that the Constitution has defined the relationship between the legislative and executive authorities to be based on cooperation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The Constitution has also set tools for exercising its supervisory role in supreme national interest, he added.
