Polishfunded cancer screening project launched at Zaatari refugee camp
Nayrouz News Agency :
A project for cancer screening for refugees, implemented by the International Jordan Health Aid Society, was launched on Monday in Zaatari camp, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The Polish-funded project employs the latest artificial intelligence technologies to help detect cancer in its early stages and improve the health of individuals.

Through the project, multi-type cancer screening will be implemented by using artificial intelligence to improve the accuracy and usefulness of low-cost tumour tests to help identify six or more types of cancer, according to Petra.

Poland’s Ambassador to Jordan Lucjan Karpinski said that the project aims to help overcome challenges faced by the Jordanian health sector due to hosting refugees and the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

The project also provides support for Syrian refugees in need in the camp, the ambassador said.
