HRH Princess Basma Bint Ali, founder of the Royal Botanical Garden, on Thursday stressed that the garden aims to maintain the local flora and its diversity in Jordan through ecological recovery and providing a location for research to address environmental challenges.
Receiving Culture Minister Ali Al Ayed, who visited the garden in the Tal Al Rumman area, Princess Basma expressed appreciation of the ministry’s initiative to serve and record the garden’s history of flora, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The princess also stressed the garden’s keenness to start productive partnerships with ministries and relevant institutions to preserve the national flora.
For his part, Ayed expressed the ministry’s readiness to support the national plant atlas project that the garden is planning to launch.
