US, Jordan partner to build inclusive schools
Nayrouz News Agency :
Deputy Mission Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Margaret Spears initiated a multimillion-dollar partnership between the US and Jordan to fund the construction of 30 new schools in Jordan.

These new schools will enable students with disabilities and special needs to have safe learning environments, reduce overcrowding and increase access to basic education, according to a USAID statement.

"The United States is committed to investing in the enormous potential of Jordan’s children and schools,” said Spears.

"We are proud to partner with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing to support children throughout Jordan through inclusive schools that fit the needs of Jordan’s most vulnerable students and promote adaptive, responsive education,” she said.

State-of-the-art schools not only make a world of difference for their students, but also serve as anchors for the surrounding community, read the statement.

The new Inclusive Schools Programme builds on USAID’s innovative school construction projects throughout Jordan, the statement said.

The US government, through USAID, has provided foreign assistance from the American people to Jordan for nearly 70 years, the statement concluded.
