His Majesty King Abdullah and Iraqi President Barham Salih, during a meeting in Baghdad on Saturday, discussed means of bolstering bilateral cooperation.
The two leaders expressed pride in the deep-rooted ties between the two countries and peoples, according to a Royal Court statement.
King Abdullah reaffirmed Jordan’s support for Iraq’s government and people, lauding the country’s success in hosting the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership.
His Majesty underscored Iraq’s central role in the region, noting that the conference is in line with Iraqi efforts to enhance regional cooperation to bolster stability and prosperity.
King meets Qatar emir
His Majesty King Abdullah and Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, during a meeting in Baghdad on Saturday, discussed the deep-rooted ties between the two countries and peoples.
The meeting, held on the sidelines of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, covered means of expanding cooperation between Jordan and Qatar, especially in the economic field, according to a separate Royal Court statement.
Discussions also addressed efforts to reach political solutions to regional crises.
Also on Saturday, the King met with Kuwait Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah in Baghdad.
The meeting, held on the sidelines of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, covered means of advancing the deep-rooted bilateral ties in various fields, according to a separate Royal Court statement.
Discussions also covered the latest regional developments, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, with King Abdullah lauding Kuwait’s positions in that regard.
The prime minister conveyed the greetings of Kuwait Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah to His Majesty, and the King asked the prime minister to convey his greetings to Sheikh Nawaf.
