The opening ceremony of the international conference entitled "Jordanian Society in a Hundred Years” was launched u لnder the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Natheer Obeidat, President of the University of Jordan, on behalf of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Wajih Owais, Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, on Monday, 10/18/2021, at the Hassan Bin Al-Hassan Amphitheater. Talal.
The President of the University of Jordan, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Nazir Obeidat, welcomed the distinguished attendees and thanked everyone who organized this celebration, stressing the importance of the university’s role on this great occasion and the knowledge, wisdom and vision that the faculty members will present during the days of the conference, and that this conference will serve as a summary for a hundred A year has passed for Jordanians, and a discussion of what will be presented to generations in the next hundred years.
In the speech of the Vice President for Human Faculties Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Majdouba, he stressed the importance of celebrating and rejoicing on this occasion and the need to study the obstacles and challenges facing the state and to identify their causes and address them, and that this can only be achieved by understanding, analyzing and scrutinizing them. He added that the first role of universities in the centenary celebration is study, analysis and scrutiny. To reality, and to judge and control, to a sober mind, not to reckless sentimentality, to complete truths, not to their halves. He called the audience to think deeply and study extensively to reach what we aspire to.
The great Jordanian poet Haider Mahmoud, who has long sung about the glory of the Jordanians and their leaders, participated in the ceremony, and he referred to the coincidence of the university's celebration of the Prophet's birthday.
With authentic Jordanian voices led by composer Dr. Muhammad Wassef, they presented the song of the great poet Haider Mahmoud, entitled "Hana Raghadan", which carries, in its words and melodies, the fragrance of history, pride and honor in the centenary that distinguishes us as Jordanians.
At the end of the ceremony, Obeidat honored the great poet by presenting a painting designed by the artist, Dr. Jihad Al-Amiri from the College of Art and Design. He also honored the composer and the students participating in the performance of the singer.
