Today, Sunday, the General Women's Union of Jordan and the Jordan Food Bank Association signed a joint cooperation agreement.
According to a statement issued by the union, the agreement aims to achieve food security for needy families through charities registered with the Jordanian General Women's Union.
The Union will work, in coordination with the Food Bank, to provide needy families, through the charities registered in the Union in the governorates of the Kingdom, with packages of goodness for eligible families within a mechanism that will be approved in accordance with the conditions followed in the Food Bank. This leads to its access to the deserving through a database in which needy families are monitored throughout the Kingdom.
The agreement was signed by the President of the Federation, Dr. Maysoon Telilan, and the President of the Food Bank, Dr. Kawthar Al-Qatarneh, in the presence of the President of the Regional Network of Food Banks, Dr. Moez Al-Shahdi.
It is noteworthy that the Jordanian General Women's Union was established in 1981, and its membership includes women's associations, clubs and social organizations, which have reached 250 associations so far distributed in various governorates of the Kingdom.
As for the Food Bank, it is one of the largest charitable institutions that engage in its activities in the field of social assistance, economic and community development, in addition to its innovation of many diverse and comprehensive programs aimed at serving the community, which have proven successful.
