Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources' Spokesperson, Mashhour Abu Eid, said offices of electricity distribution companies (EDC) are open on Saturday, to help applicants to benefit from the subsidized electric tariff.
Abu Eid called on subscribers, who have not yet registered on the electric tariff platform via the website kahraba.gov.jo, to benefit from the support and avoid increase in their electricity bills.
The process of receiving requests to benefit from the subsidized electric tariff in the household sector continues without a time ceiling, despite the start of the implementation of the new electricity tariff at the beginning of April 2022, Abu Eid pointed out.
In addition, Abu Eid noted subsidy eligibility is not related to the amount of electricity consumption, adding that if eligible subscribers' monthly amount exceeds 600 kilowatt-hours, the beneficiary will continue to receive the gov't subsidy applied to the first subsidized tranches.
Earlier, the Kingdom's electricity distribution companies announced their readiness to provide assistance to their subscribers to register on the electricity subsidy platform.
