Jordan ranks 120 out of 180 nations in press freedom, advancing 9 positions in the 2022 World Press Freedom Index compiled by Reporters Without Borders (RSF).
Ranking 5th among the Arab states, Jordan is behind Qatar, Tunisia, Mauritania and Comoros.
The 20th World Press Freedom Index published by Reporters Without Borders (RSF), under the theme "A New Era of Polarization," said that "Jordan is known for its political stability, which distinguishes it from its neighboring countries."
The Press Freedom Index is an annual ranking of countries compiled and published by RSF since 2002 based upon the organization's own assessment of the countries' press freedom records in the previous year.
